De Sede is a Swiss company established in 1962 when Ernst Lüthy started a small saddler's workshop in Klingnau. The family-run business had a great success and became a joint-stock company called de Sede AG in 1965, but remained faithful to its original guiding principles: craftsmanship tradition, refinement, high-quality materials. The first opportunity to get noticed was in 1964 with the first participation to the international furniture and interiors fair Imm Cologne. From that moment on, de Sede became a leading company in the production of high quality leather upholstered furniture and in 2017, under the guidance of Monika Walser, it also launched the production of a handbag collection. Today de Sede presents itself as a company with over 120 employees exporting its products to more than 40 countries including the United States, Russia, China and Brazil and boasting important collaborations with international icons of the design furniture field such as Santiago Calatrava, Mathias Hoffman, Antonella Scarpitta, Hugo De Ruiter and Gordon Guillaumier. The Swiss artisans produce only furnishing accessories of singular quality, processing them with dedication, knowledge and experience. The company follows the principles on which it was established at the origins: each piece of furniture produced must meet high quality standards. The pieces of furniture of the collection are all finished off with handmade stitching that gives it greater durability and incomparable beauty.
